Mile marker 88 on the Overseas Highway, and one of the few places in Islamorada where the burger is the point. M.E.A.T. grinds and cooks its own: the Cowboy Burger, the Inside-Out Juicy Lucy with the cheese buried in the patty, plus pulled pork, smoked wings, a chili cheese dog and a Mahi Reuben that nods to where you are. Pork rinds to start, bread pudding to finish, craft beer throughout. Regulars treat it as the antidote to the Keys' seafood-and-sunset routine, and the kitchen has picked up a stack of Florida accolades for it.
