Mi Tierra Bar & Kitchen gives Dominican home cooking a bar and a late licence. The room is relaxed but deliberately styled, the cocktails get real attention, and the kitchen keeps the classics intact: pollo guisado over white rice and habichuelas or moro de habichuelas rojas, crisp-fried chuleta de cerdo, plátanos maduros fritos on the side of nearly everything. Diners keep landing on the same verdict - that the flavours taste like the real thing rather than a softened version of it. Kitchen runs to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Worth the drive west.
