A Carrollwood fixture on North Dale Mabry since 2000, terra cotta underfoot and a chef who cooks like the room belongs to him. The dinner card leans steak and Florida fish: Michael's Classic Steak Diane finished tableside-style in brandy cream, Steak au Poivre, Key West yellowtail snapper in a macadamia crust with pineapple-coconut rum butter, honey bourbon salmon, wasabi-crusted ahi. Wild Gulf shrimp pesto pasta and a blackberry duck breast fill out the rest. Diners talk about the service as much as the cooking — it is that kind of neighbourhood restaurant. Twenty-five years and counting.
