Motek South Beach – Restaurant

At the southern tip of the beach, Motek's South Pointe room at 100 Collins Avenue serves Mediterranean food from morning until night. The kitchen is seed-oil-free and bakes its pita to order. Shakshuka arrives in the skillet with a broad round of challah; hummus is whipped to a cream; cauliflower comes out crisp and salty; there are chopped salads, chicken schnitzel sandwiches and arayes, spiced beef sealed into pita and griddled. The cooking is Israeli with Moroccan, Lebanese and Yemeni influences. Guests reliably praise the bread. A neighbourhood cafe that happens to be very good.
