MR JACK'S SOUL ON THE GO – Restaurant

A family-run soul food kitchen on Lincoln Boulevard where the counter is called the Family Food Factory and everything comes out of it fast. Mr. Jack's builds around Southern staples done properly: oxtail, smothered pork chops, fried and smothered chicken, baked collard greens, macaroni and cheese, baked spaghetti, with peach cobbler, banana pudding and sweet potato pie waiting at the end. Lunch runs a tight midday window and the daily meat specials go until they are gone. Regulars talk about the portions and the welcome as much as the seasoning. Takeout that never feels like takeout.
