NENE'S RESTAURANT & BAR – Restaurant
A Georgian and Central Asian table in Tampa, and one of the few places in the city cooking this food seriously. Start with pkhali of beetroot, walnut and coriander, or eggplant roulettes rolled around carrot and dill, then order khachapuri - the boat-shaped Adjaruli with its egg yolk and butter, or the classic pie. Khinkali dumplings of lamb and beef come by the plate. Beyond that sit Uzbek plov, chakhokhbili of chicken with peppers and tomato, borscht, kharcho and sarma. Unfamiliar territory for most diners, and well worth the crossing.
