The Venice Avenue branch opens earlier than its sisters and runs the same generous kitchen, one that bakes its own bread, biscuits and pastry each morning. Look for the Venice Ave Benedict - blackened shrimp and crisp bacon over grilled tomato with poached eggs and fresh hollandaise - or Uncle Buck's Buckwheat Special, three silver dollar buckwheat cakes shot through with blueberries and toasted almonds. There are cinnamon-spiced crepes filled with house strawberry cream cheese, a Cozumel scramble with blackened shrimp and pepper jack, and French toast cut from that jumbo cinnamon roll. Breakfast and lunch only, seven days a week.
