Perched on Givat Yona above Ashdod port, Kira takes its name from the Japanese for red sun and builds the whole room around panoramic windows and the sea beyond them. Kosher, open from eight in the morning, it runs business lunches, starters, soups, salads, burgers and house desserts, with a rooftop bar upstairs mixing craft cocktails once the light goes. The view does a lot of the work and the kitchen knows it. Come for the sunset, stay on the roof.
