THAI SMILE – Restaurant

Thai Smile is a small dinner-only room on Harbor Boulevard in Destin, open Tuesday through Sunday from four and closed Mondays. The kitchen cooks home-style Thai: pad Thai, drunken noodles, green curry and tom yum soup anchor a list priced in the low teens. There is no liquor licence, so the room runs BYOB, and the owners work the floor themselves, checking tables and steering first-timers through the spice scale. It seats few enough that a larger party should call ahead. Diners come away talking about how personally the place is run and how little the cooking has been softened for the beach crowd.
