Rye bread, deli mustard and a bakery case you have to walk past twice — TooJay's runs the Fort Lauderdale room the way a New York deli is supposed to run. Matzo ball soup arrives in a bowl that means it, corned beef and pastrami get hand-carved and stacked, and the Reuben and potato pancakes carry the lunch rush. Save room, or don't, for the Killer Cake. Diners consistently mention portions that defeat them and a staff that has clearly done this a long time. Old-school deli, no apologies, no small plates.
