Soul food on NW 7th Avenue, plated to order at the counter, which is why the line moves slowly and almost nobody minds. Oxtails over yellow rice, sweet-heat wings, fried shrimp, a swai and shrimp combo, and a Thursday meatloaf special regulars plan their week around. The sides carry real weight here: mac and cheese, collard greens, candied yams, sweet potato cornbread. Dessert is the calling card, with strawberry crunch cake and banana pudding generous enough to split. Seating is tight and the wait is genuine, but so is the welcome, and the food earns the patience.
