TWO FAT GUYS – Restaurant

A weekday lunch counter tucked into a warehouse park just off I-95, trading since 1988 and shuttered by mid-afternoon. The board runs to serious sandwiches: The Fat Guy stacks two hams, two salamis and capicola under cheese; the Gordo presses pork, ham, turkey and bacon Cuban-style; there is a Philly cheesesteak, a meatball sub, chili and gumbo, and chef and chicken Caesar salads for the lighter-minded. Regulars talk most about the bread, the sheer amount of meat, and an owner who already knows their order. Unglamorous surroundings. Sandwiches that do not need them.
