On Park Avenue in Winter Park, Umi runs a menu that reaches past Japan — Korean touches sit comfortably beside the sushi counter. The bibimbap and grilled salmon are the plates regulars name first, and the roll list is where the kitchen shows off: Bishojo, Crunchy Hako, Firefly, the New Park Avenue, and a cilantro roll people bring friends back for. Kimchi croquettes, drunken lobster and a bowl of ramen round it out. The decor is showing its years; nobody seems to mind. Diners consistently call out the freshness, the plating and a floor team that reads a table well.
