WAHOO WILLIES – Restaurant

A block off the Fort Myers Beach waterfront on Old San Carlos Boulevard, Wahoo Willie's runs on the easy rhythm of a beach bar that takes its kitchen seriously. Blackened mahi lands on a bun under pineapple-mango salsa; there is grilled black grouper, blackened tuna plated with rice, avocado, wasabi and ginger, garlic-parm wings and New Orleans baked oysters, plus flatbreads and a double cheeseburger for the less ambitious. Live music fills the bar area. Regulars talk most about the staff, bartenders who remember faces and steer you well, and about prices that stay reasonable for a beach town. Casual, generous, hard to leave.
