WAJIRO'S RESTAURANT – Restaurant

Out on Calle Ocho where Miami thins toward Tamiami, Wajiro's does Cuban cooking the way it is meant to be done, loudly and generously, with a band going. The kitchen turns out crema de malanga and fufu de platano, arroz con pollo a la chorrera, churrasco under chimichurri, whole fried snapper and a langosta entera al ajillo big enough to justify the drive. Guests come back for the room as much as the plates: countryside-Cuba decor, cold mojitos, waiters who steer you toward the right thing. Prices stay honest. The live music does the rest.
