WAKULLA SPRINGS – Restaurant

The dining room inside the historic lodge at Wakulla Springs still looks the part: high ceilings, a view over the spring, and an old soda fountain scooping ice cream off to one side. Breakfast through dinner runs Southern. Shrimp and grits, fried catfish with hush puppies, fried green tomatoes, chicken and waffles, sourdough French toast, navy bean soup, shrimp and fish po'boys. Visitors consistently mention generous plates and warm, unhurried staff, and most pair a meal with the park's ranger-led river cruise past alligators and manatees. Recent renovations tidied the room without stripping its age. Three meals a day, all worth it.
