WRIGHTS GOURMET HOUSE – Restaurant

A South Tampa deli counter on Dale Mabry that people have been driving out of their way to reach for decades. Wright's Gourmet House builds sandwiches at a scale that all but guarantees a second meal — the Beef Martini, roast beef, hot pastrami, turkey Reuben, turkey club, the Cuban, a veggie option — and then makes the cakes that half the room actually came for: hummingbird, red velvet, coconut, chocolate, rum. Catering platters go out by the phone order. Staff move quickly and still make it feel personal. Early hours, no Sundays, worth the detour.
