Order the Zaza Cubano and watch the cheese make a scene; or a pan con bistec, a media noche, a Casa egg sandwich early on. The plates are the traditional set — vaca frita, palomilla steak, sweet plantains, black beans, white rice — with beef and chicken empanadas and ham croquettes on the side. Diners rate the cafecito every bit as highly as the food. Expect a crowd; that is rather the point.
