New York, transplanted to the Arches Beach promenade in Ashdod. Zot is the sister act to Ze, the burger bar Adam Shokron has run down there for years, and it deliberately sidesteps the Neapolitan trend everyone else is chasing: enormous Brooklyn-style pies, slices you fold, built with a pizza specialist's hand on the dough. Doors open late afternoon and stay open to midnight. Not kosher, not quiet, not trying to be refined. A different accent entirely, and Ashdod has taken to it.
