At 1592 Main Street in downtown Sarasota, chefs Alexandre Gosselin and Johnny Zaki run nearly everything across a wood-fired grill, and the cooking roams the Mediterranean while it does — Greek, Levantine and French in the same breath. Order to share: farmers market hummus, saganaki flambé, spicy falafel on open-face pita, vegetarian dolmades, fried calamari, grilled octopus. Then moussaka, a whole branzino grilled or fried, grilled salmon, or a burger and fries if the table insists. Cocktails get real attention here too. Open daily, and late on weekends.
