Abesh Hotel & Restaurant runs on Dhaka time: doors open at six in the morning and stay open until eleven at night, and the kitchen cooks to that rhythm. Breakfast brings nehari and chicken sonali soup; lunch turns to Peshawari beef, beef liver bhuna, and korma of rui or boal fish; evenings run to khichuri, chicken grill, duck bhuna and crab bhuna. Branch two sits by the BRTC bus depot in Pallabi, Mirpur-12, one of five across the city. Named for one founder's young daughter, the place trades on plain honesty and everyday prices. Come early, come late, come hungry.
