The Restaurant at Alaqua sits inside a strictly private, invitation-only golf club in Longwood, its dining room opening onto a patio beside the eighteenth green. Chef Michelle runs a kitchen here that moves across styles rather than settling into one, and weekly specials, wine tastings, holiday menus and tasting dinners rotate through the calendar. Members are asked to book evening tables the same afternoon, and a day ahead for larger parties. The room doubles as the club's venue for weddings, banquets and anniversaries. Elegant without being stiff about it. Getting through the door is the hard part, not the cooking.
