ALOHA TO GO – Restaurant

Family recipes carried over from Hawaii still drive this Seminole Boulevard barbecue kitchen, which began life as a food truck before settling into a room of its own. Huli huli chicken is the signature, basted and turned over the grill until the skin lacquers, and it lands the island way: two scoops rice, one scoop macaroni salad. Around it are ono teriyaki beef, hand-breaded chicken katsu under house katsu sauce, kalbi, barbecue ribs, loco moco with signature gravy and two fried eggs, poke bowls and spam musubi. Diners return for the portions and the unhurried welcome. This is ohana, plated.
