A roastery first, a cafe second: Aroma roasts its own beans in Pretoria and sells them by the bag alongside the coffee it pours. The Silver Lakes branch sits in the In-Shere Centre on Graham Road and stays open late most nights, which is when the gelato counter earns its keep. Food is handmade to order on freshly baked panini, croissants, bagels, toasted rye or wraps: hot brisket on rye with sweet mustard and coleslaw, seared sirloin panini, lamb pita with rocket and kalamata, a full breakfast plate with eggs, streaky bacon, grilled tomato and mushrooms. Gluten-free bread is available.
