Crawdaddy's Silver Lakes – restaurant

The Silver Lakes room of a Pretoria seafood-and-grill group established in 1995, now seven branches across Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo. The kitchen works both halves of its menu hard. Hake, calamari, squid heads and prawns land together on the mini platter, while the grill sends out a 250g sirloin under jalapenos, cheese sauce and a three-cheese crust, or fillet crowned with balsamic caramelised onion and camembert. Starters lean rich: snails baked in blue cheese and bacon, jalapeno poppers, wings in sriracha lemon peri. Chowders are a house signature, the wine list local.
