Vovo Telo Bakery & Café – cafe

Vovo Telo began with a bicycle in Madagascar: its founder watched an old man pedal past with a basket of baguettes and came home determined to bake properly. The South African bakery-cafe group still works that way, with stone-ground flour, free-range eggs, long-fermented sourdough, croissants, ciabatta, multigrain loaves and brioche coming out of the ovens daily. The kitchens carry it into the day with scrambled eggs on ciabatta, scones with jam and mascarpone, handmade pasta, pizza, burgers, sandwiches and salads. Local artisanal producers fill in the gaps. A bakery first, and it tastes like it.
