Bagel Boss (Surfside) – Restaurant

Harding Avenue picked up a New York accent in summer 2025, when Bagel Boss brought its Long Island operation, first opened in Hicksville in 1975, south to Surfside. The counter runs on schmears: plain, scallion, lox, jalapeno, olive, walnut raisin, strawberry, even a tofu spread. Beyond that there are smoked fish sandwiches, omelettes, breakfast burritos, bakery trays, and the chain's trademark Flagel, a bagel pressed flat before baking. Salads, smoked fish and cheeses are sold by the quarter pound for the table at home. The shop represents itself as kosher. It opens early and closes mid-afternoon, unapologetically a morning place.
