BEACH DINER – Restaurant

South of the river in Mandarin, the local outpost of a small Jacksonville-area diner group that has been feeding the beaches for over twenty-five years. Breakfast and lunch run all day, six in the morning until half past two. The kitchen leans hearty: pecan and chocolate chip pancakes, French toast, Belgian waffles, breakfast burritos, shrimp and crab or Western omelettes, biscuits with sausage gravy, corned beef hash, bagel and lox. Bubba specials add fish-n-grits and chicken and waffles, while salads, soups, hot-off-the-grill plates and sandwiches carry the lunch side. Diners return for the consistency. Unfussy, generous, reliably busy at weekends.
