HANA MOON SUSHI – Restaurant

A San Jose Boulevard sushi room in Mandarin that draws a steady neighbourhood crowd at lunch and again at dinner. Rolls do the heavy lifting — the namesake Hana Moon wraps tuna, salmon, yellowtail, cucumber and avocado in soy paper, and the dragon and spicy tuna rolls move fast — with hibachi plates, sashimi and bento boxes rounding out the board. Larger orders arrive on a wooden boat, which never stops being fun. The refrain from regulars is consistent: the fish tastes fresh, the service is quick and warm. Small room, serious sushi.
