BRONX HOUSE PIZZA – Restaurant

The A1A Beach Boulevard branch, which Bronx House calls Anastasia, puts a 550-degree gas-fired brick oven a short walk from the sand. New York pizza is the point and the crust does the talking: crisp edges, airy crumb, a proper chew. Order a specialty pie such as the Beast of Burden or the Popeye, or take the double-fermented Blue Steel deep dish in six squares. There are heroes, calzones, Sunday gravy with meatballs, spaghetti bolognese, eggplant parmigiana, bruschetta and fried lasagna balls. Gluten-free cauliflower crusts and vegan options exist. Beach day, then a pie. Hard to argue with that order.
