Beit Kafe David is a small cafe-restaurant on Rabbi Herzog in Ashdod that cooks Moroccan home food rather than cafe standards. Salads and starters come first, there is beer and wine alongside the coffee, and dessert follows if you last that long. It opens late morning, runs into the night Sunday through Thursday, closes early Friday and stays shut for Shabbat. The note people who eat there keep returning to is the same one: it tastes like somebody's kitchen rather than a menu. Small room, home cooking, no pretence.
