The flagship of the Cafe Lyon chain, in Ashdod's Gan Ha'ir complex facing the shore, with an open kitchen at its centre and a long bar wrapped around it so you can watch the pass while you eat. The cooking is French country food, carried over from La Lionne, the Ashdod restaurant that has run since 1996 and gave this chain its recipes and its accent. Breakfast through late evening, kosher, with a full vegan menu and outdoor seating. Young in styling, classical in the kitchen. A rare pairing, and it works.
