CAFE LARGO – Restaurant
Downtown Key Largo's Italian room, run by the DiGiorgio family since 1992 and now into its third generation. The menu leans old-school and generous: short-rib blend meatballs under whipped ricotta, pan-roasted calamari in an angry arrabbiata with pancetta and cherry peppers, an eggplant stack layered with prosciutto, lasagna built on house-made pasta, and osso buco simmered from a jumbo bone-in pork shank over mushroom risotto. Yellowtail and mahi come off local boats. The kitchen's Parmesan-crusted veal chop Florentine and truffled lobster mac and cheese were both featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The wine list runs very long.
