Cafe Palmer / קפה פלמר – cafe

A very small cafe just inside Palmer Gate, on the seam between Haifa's port and its lower city, where eight customers at once counts as a full house. Owner Keren bakes, and the counter is the whole argument: plum cake, pistachio and carrot cake, brownies finished with sea salt, and a short list of sandwiches built on the house sourdough. The BLT, fried bacon with lettuce and tomato, is the one regulars name first. Coffee is taken seriously here, and Bavarian Lowenbrau lager pours frozen from the tap with a sprig of herbs alongside. Family friendly, dog friendly, deliberately tiny.
