U-Bahn Café – cafe

A bohemian cafe-bar on Masada Street in Haifa's Hadar, opposite the lane down to the Carmelit, styled after a European underground haunt and drawing students, artists and travellers accordingly. Coffee is the serious part; the food menu is light and notably vegan-friendly, with a vegan burger, a vegan sandwich, vegan shakshuka and a cauliflower dish. It runs from morning until midnight, which is when it properly comes alive. Opinions split on price and consistency, but nobody argues about the atmosphere.
