Calabria trattoria del'sud – italian_restaurant
A southern Italian trattoria on King George in Tel Aviv, between Gan Meir and the Bezalel market, run by chef Benzi Arbel. The card is short and cheerfully organised: a whole section devoted to frying, another of assorted small plates, fresh pastas, then sweets. Pizza montanara arrives fried rather than baked, Calabrian rice balls come out crisp, and panzanella romana handles the bread salad. Pasta runs to frutti di mare and gnocchi with shrimp. Nothing on the menu passes eighty shekels. Chocolate cake and almond gelato bring it to a close. Loud, plain in the best way, and cheerfully priced.
