CASA FRIDA INC – Restaurant

Traditional Mexican cooking with a modern turn on North Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale, opened in 2012 by a couple who ran restaurants in Cancun and Chicago first. The Sun Sentinel called the guacamole the best in Broward. Past it: Mayan roasted pork cochinita pibil, short rib birria wrapped in banana leaves and oven-roasted eight hours, adobo leg of lamb barbacoa, chiles en nogada, mole made from scratch. Tacos come three to a plate, pork belly through hongos and baja shrimp. Seafood Mazatlan gathers shrimp, scallops and clams. Weekend breakfast runs at midday. The tequila and mezcal list runs deep.
