CasAntica Ristorante occupies a 1926 house recognised by the City of Sarasota, tucked among the trees at the northern edge of downtown, and has been family-run since 2014. Host Roberto Ercolani came from Rome; the pastas are made in-house daily. Order strozzapreti al salmone, fettuccine allo scoglio with mussels, clams, shrimp and calamari, lobster ravioli in a light cream, pappardelle lamb bolognese, veal saltimbocca under prosciutto di Parma, or branzino butterflied in butter and thyme. The cellar runs to roughly 150 labels. Dinner only, Tuesday through Saturday, with indoor and outdoor tables and complimentary parking nearby. Historic, unhurried, quietly romantic.
