CELLAR – Restaurant
The Cellar has occupied a 1907 mansion on Magnolia Avenue in Daytona Beach's historic district since 2003, serving dinner Tuesday through Saturday and nothing else. Chef Sam Moggio, a Culinary Institute of America graduate with four decades behind him, cooks Italian with an old-school hand. Antipasti bring carpaccio di manzo, polenta con salsiccia e porcini, alici marinate and portobello con gorgonzola. Pasta is house-made: bucatini carbonara, pappardelle con granchio e pesto, gnocchi alla bolognese, agnolotti d'agnello, risotto ai porcini. Secondi run to filetto al Barolo, osso buco d'agnello, anatra alle mele verdi and dentice alla romana. Unhurried, formal, deliberately old-fashioned.
