CHELAS NICARAGUAN CUISINE – Restaurant
Three decades of Nicaraguan home cooking in south Miami-Dade, served daily from seven in the morning until seven at night. The kitchen works in the fritanga tradition, everything grilled or fried and built for sharing, and the counter reads like a Managua street corner: yuca frita with garlic and cilantro sauce, tacos and flautas rolled in corn tortillas under slaw and crema, enchilada de carne, pupusas, repocheta, quesillo. Sweet plantain arrives whole beneath shredded cheese as maduro en gloria. Breakfasts, soups, natural juices and coffee fill out the board. Catering runs out to quinceaneras. Family-run since 1994, and it shows.
