DIMITRI'S ON THE WATER – Restaurant
Perched on the Anclote River at the Tarpon Springs sponge docks, Dimitri's puts Greek cooking and never-frozen local seafood in front of a working waterfront. Start with the spread sampler, taramosalata, skordalia, tzatziki and melitzanosalata, or flaming saganaki, spanakopita, crab cakes, pickled octopus. Chargrilled octopus is the signature, though octopus stifado braised with onions, tomatoes, peppers and feta runs it close. Whole fish of the day comes fried, broiled or plaki; grouper, mahi and the thalassina platter cover the rest. Yia Yia's avgolemono, moussaka and pastitsio hold the traditional line.
