DRAGON FLOWER WINERY – American
Along Highway 42 in Summerfield, Dragon Flower Winery has been Maggie Peacock and Dean Gunter's project since 2018, built on wine blends Dean learned at his uncle's Ohio winery before relocating to Florida. The tasting menu rotates seven to twelve pours at fifty cents a sample, working muscadine grapes, orange honey and seasonal fruit into hibiscus, raspberry, petit sirah and mead. A short food menu of charcuterie boards and flatbreads accompanies the wine, poured from a bar the owners built by hand from reclaimed materials, set on patios beside a neighboring horse rescue. Visitors linger for the relaxed, homegrown feel.
