Dragon Flower Winery sits on Highway 42 in Summerfield, where owners Maggie Peacock and Dean Gunter have poured hand-crafted wines since 2018, after Dean trained at his uncle's Ohio winery. Guests build their own tasting flight from a rotating list of seven to twelve pours, fifty cents a sample, drawing on muscadine grapes, orange blossom honey and seasonal fruit for blends like hibiscus, raspberry, petit sirah and mead. Charcuterie boards and flatbreads round out the bar the couple built themselves from reclaimed materials, set across two patios beside a neighboring horse rescue farm.
