GATOR JOE'S – Restaurant
A Key West-styled beach bar on the water's edge of Lake Weir, on a site the restaurant dates to 1926 and bills as Marion County's only waterfront restaurant of its kind. The kitchen works the casual end of things: burgers, sandwiches, seafood and steaks, eaten outside with the lake laid out in front of you. It runs long hours seven days a week and fills with families, boaters and Jeep-night regulars. Diners keep mentioning the service alongside the view. Sunset here does most of the selling.
