GOLDEN KRUST BAKERY – Restaurant

Lauderhill's Golden Krust sits on Northwest 12th Street and works as both bakery and kitchen. The patties come out golden and layered — beef, spicy beef, chicken, vegetarian — and a coco bread wrap turns one into lunch. Behind the counter the steam trays carry the heavier Jamaican staples: jerk chicken, braised oxtail in gravy, curry goat, brown stew chicken, rice and peas. There's spice bun, hard dough bread and carrot cake on the shelf. The recurring note from regulars is seasoning that actually shows up and plates that don't skimp. Quick in, well fed out.
