Six in the morning on the Overseas Highway, and the little house that opened in 1982 is already turning tables. The giant key lime muffin is why most people stop, and why plenty leave with a bag of them. The rest is Southern breakfast cooking played straight: Harriette's pancakes, country fried steak under homemade sausage gravy, conch Benedict, shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles. Lunch brings a ten-ounce Key Largo burger stacked with bacon, ham, chorizo and avocado, a mahi sandwich, a Reuben. Portions run large, the room feels like somebody's kitchen, and the doors close at three.
