HIKARI – Restaurant
Hikari brought serious kosher fine dining to Harding Avenue in Surfside, rebuilding the old Backyard BBQ space into a dark, contemporary room with curated sound and a nightlife pulse. The cooking is glatt kosher Japanese: three preset tasting menus alongside an expanded a la carte list, sashimi and nigiri plated with real restraint, a hand-roll bar for something more interactive, and cooked plates such as tempura mushrooms, lamb chops and wagyu skewers. Early diners single out the quality of the fish, the pacing of the omakase and service that stays attentive without stiffness. Upscale, never precious.
