HOT DOG MARACAY MIAMI 4 – Restaurant

Miami's Venezuelan perro caliente, done the Maracay way — which is to say buried. The traditional dog starts with soft fresh bread and mixed sausage, then disappears under shredded cabbage, onion, sweet corn, crushed potato sticks, yellow cheese and stripes of ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard. Add carne mechada, the slow-shredded beef, and it becomes a full dinner. Frescolita, Malta and Uvita sit in the cooler where you would expect a Coke. The kitchen runs late, well past midnight on weekends, which tells you exactly what this is for. Two hands required.
