HOTEL BAR – Restaurant

The conceit is neat: a downtown Tampa bar whose list is drawn from drinks born in the world's great hotels. The Hanky Panky arrives as it should — gin, Bonal, fernet, a lick of amaro — while the Moonwalk goes the other way entirely, Grand Marnier and grapefruit softened with rosewater and sparkling rosé. Food is deliberately small: deviled eggs, olives, a cheese plate, a plate of fresh pasta if you are staying a while. Embossed tin ceiling, marble bar top, antique chandelier, no reservations, open until three. The city's late seat.
