HUNGRY HOWIES PIZZA & SUBS – Restaurant

On Seminole Boulevard, Hungry Howie's does carryout pizza with a seasoned edge, literally. The chain's free flavored crusts, butter, butter cheese, Asiago, Cajun, garlic herb, onion, ranch and sesame, have been the calling card since the mid-eighties, and they go on original round, deep dish, thin or gluten-free bases. The rest of the menu is unpretentious and useful: oven-baked calzone-style subs, Howie Bread, bone-in and boneless wings, tenders, fresh salads, baked pasta, cookies. Order ahead, collect, done. It is not trying to be a destination, and it does not have to be.
